Photo a Day - 2014

This gallery represents a continuation of the Photo-a-Day challenge started in 2012 and continued through 2013. The goal is to continue to publish one photograph shot every day in 2014. There are no set themes, so the subjects will vary widely from day-to-day, although there will be a very strong emphasis on black and white as well as street photography in the third year of this project.

Washington Bridge at Night

Washington Bridge at Night

East Providence, Rhode Island

I was not planning to take a night photo, today, however neither was I planning to be at work until after 7:30 PM. Some production problems overnight took care of that. So on my way home, I decided to swing by Bold Point for this photo of the Washington Bridge. There was just enough ripple in the water to give the brilliant light reflections a sparkle effect. I'll have to return to this spot at some point for an HDR composition.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
