All other complexes had very square sided walls and a distinct pyramid shape to each of them. The buildings in this area were much more rounded, taking on almost a beehive appearance.
kannafoot > Jungle Encroachment Caracol, Belize While the area was completely deforested when Caracol was in use back in 650 AD, the jungle has since reclaimed the entire region. Here you see the jungle encroaching on the nobility complex despite best efforts to keep the area relatively open.
