Still Waters
I went out to Little Compton today to photograph the Sakonnet Point Light House. The sky and water were both an ugly gray monochrome and I really wasn't sure I'd be pleased with the results. On my way back I spotted this long dock sticking out from the Sakonnet Yacht Club pointing across the inlet in Rhode Island Sound to yet another private yacht club near the Point. The water was perfectly calm and a very nice deep shade of blue, so I opted to take it as a "safety shot". It was a good plan. The lighthouse was indeed rather blah, and I fell in love with the blue tones in this photograph. Expect to see a lot more from Tiverton and Little Compton as the year progresses. There were dozens of very interesting photo subjects along scenic Route 77, so I'll be visiting that area often.
