This gallery represents a return to the Photo-a-Day challenge. The goal is to publish one photograph shot every day in 2009. There are no set themes, so the subjects will vary widely from day-to-day. The last time I took this challenge was in 2006. Here is a link to my 2006 Photo-a-Day Gallery.

kannafoot > April 23, 2009Painter's PaletteI swung by Bald Point on my way home today and took this shot of some darks at dusk. The colors on the docks and the reflections in the water remind me of a painter's palette. Bold Point ParkEast Providence, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 22, 2009Feed Me!This little chipmunk has found the various bird feeders in my backyard. He's not shy at all and comes sprinting up to me begging for a handout anytime I walk out the back door.ChipmunkNorth Providence, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 21, 2009Gaggle of BrantsIt was a very dreary day so I went down to Sabin Point to see if there were any geese or ducks to photograph. The weather was suitable for them. Just as I spotted this gaggle of Brants it started to pour. I grabbed a quick shot and sprinted for the car.BrantsEast Providence, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 20, 2009WildflowersWell, not exactly wild. Someone planted them along the side of the road for decoration. I wasn't sure what my time availability would be today, so I opted to get this macro shot on my way to work this morning. I'm really not at all crazy about the way the shots came out, though.North Providence, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 19, 2009Fixer UpperWe had a Sunday Brunch at the Boathouse in Tiverton today. There's a real nice long dock out behind the restaurant, and I thought this rowboat would make a nice photo. Brunch was good, and I'm real pleased with how the photo turned out.The Boathouse RestaurantTiverton, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 18, 2009Gone Fishin'I wasn't really sure what I wanted to photograph today, so I wandered through Lincoln Woods State Park in search of a shot. Well, fishing season officially opened last weekend, and the park was full of folks attempting to catch some of the recently stocked trout swimming in Olney Pond. This gentleman was fishing just off-shore in his kayak and consented to a photo. I liked the bright orange kayak in contrast with the gray sky and the red budding trees in the background.Lincoln Woods State ParkLincoln, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 17, 2009Clean SlateThis is the roof of the same blacksmith shop I shot yesterday. I decided to head back there today because I couldn't resist getting a shot of that nicely preserved slate roof coupled with an old brick chimney and wooden cupola.BlacksmithLincoln, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 16, 2009Textured ReflectionsHere's an interesting shot of some trees and bushes reflected in the window of an 18th century blacksmith shop on historic Great Road in Lincoln. The blacksmith shop is still in use as a cultural center depicting life in the 18th century.BlacksmithLincoln, Rhode Island
kannafoot > April 15, 2009StuccoI don't have the exact date on this house, but the location and architecture is consistent with late 18th or early 19th century. There are two mill complexes within a quarter mile of the house, so it's highly likely that there's a connection.Farnum PikeSmithfield, Rhode Island
