Spring Cleaning20 April 2013 -- 110/365Providence, Rhode IslandToday marks the annual Earth Day Cleanup along the Providence Waterfront. Several hundred volunteers were anticipated over the course of the 3-hour cleanup along the stretch of river that is home to Waterfire. Today's photo shows part of the river cleanup with volunteers using nets to scoop trash out of the water. The river, though, is surprisingly clean as is the stretch of walkway that lines both sides of the park. While the state as a whole is strewn with litter, there is a remarkable lack of trash in this park.Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. In PSE I added a levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter. - Ron Correia Photography
This gallery represents a continuation of the Photo-a-Day challenge completed in 2012. The goal is to continue to publish one photograph shot every day in 2013. There are no set themes, so the subjects will vary widely from day-to-day.
